3 Must-Have Content Planning Tools that Changed my Business
Content Planning Tool #1: Monday.com
Monday.com is an organization master. It organizes all of my content plans from scheduling podcasts, blog posts, and social media posts, to keeping track of bigger projects. It has the ability to be shared among team members, or you can use it all for yourself.
This is how I keep track of my own content plan and it’s the main tool my team and I use to keep track of my client’s content plans as well. You can create boards and within each board, you can create folders. Each folder can be labeled with a due date and progress tracker, and the person in charge of that task can be tagged, so they get notified when it is added.
For example, I have a board called “Michelle Gifford Content” and within that board, I have different folders like “Podcasts Episodes,” “Youtube Videos,” and “Blog Posts.” In each folder, I create tasks, i.e. blog posts, youtube videos, etc. There is a notes section where I can add links to the task or leave a few bullet points to help explain the task if needed. I hope this gives you an idea of how to organize your content on Monday.com.
That’s the basics of how Monday.com works, but one of my favorite things about it is its ability to break things up into task items and add an assigned person to that task. This is what works best for me, but if it’s just you in your business, it’s just a really handy tool to keep your to-do items and content plans organized all in one place. Content Planning Tool #2: My Planner
I have an actual planner that I produced and sell on my website. I really love my planner. It’s beautiful, has inspirational quotes, and helps you complete your daily 3 before 9 challenge (check in with God, workout, and get ready before 9 am). Beyond that though, I know I can’t be the only one who would buy a planner for the new year and not fill it out for several days (or weeks) and then be upset that all those pages are wasted when I’m ready to fill it out again.
So, my planner has blank dates that you can fill in, so you can buy it today and use it now and again when you’re ready to without worrying about getting the dates all messed up. And this planner is very family/mom-friendly. Outside of your work schedule, there is space in there for meal planning and to-do items you need to remember. (Like needing to remember your child’s dentist appointment.)
My planner also has a content planning section. This will help you see what you’re creating throughout the month and where your goals are, and track them there. I’ve had so many people tell me how much they love this planner and how it really has changed the way they do business.
I think my planner has been a success for people because, again, it takes into consideration that you’re not just a business owner, but a mom too. You have a life on both sides of that coin and they both need to be seen. So, go grab your planner here and start scheduling!
Content Planning Tool #3: TailWind
So, as you know, I’m a big believer in Pinterest. Pinterest has been a huge part of my business for as long as I can remember. The cool thing about Pinterest is that it’s a search engine. And we want to be on as many search engines as possible. So, Pinterest is a huge help when it comes to getting your content seen, and keeping it evergreen.
TailWind is what helps schedule out your content for Pinterest. And I don’t know if you’ve ever used other apps or tools to schedule out content for Instagram or something similar, but TailWind is way better than my experience with the other ones. It’s because Pinterest and TailWind are like a certified partnership, so Pinterest loves it when you use TailWind.
The main things I love about TailWind are how you can create intelligent, really beautiful pins, how it helps you get discovered by the right people, and how it schedules out your content. That last one is probably the biggest thing for me because I can spend one or two hours a month scheduling out my pins for the next month and then won’t have to touch or think about it again for the next 30 days.
And, TailWind doesn’t just schedule out your content, but it tells you when you should publish your content. It has a smart scheduler that can determine when your target audience is on Pinterest searching for that content. It will give you suggestions on when to post your content based on that. Isn’t that amazing? Click here to get started with TailWind!
