You guys.  Something big happened last month and since I don’t believe in burying the lead, I am telling you what it is in the title.  We sold more than $4,000 in Maskcara products.  WHAT!  And yes, this was all through our past customers and online sales.  That seems like a lot, and it is, but I also believe in showing you behind the curtain of what that looks like.  So, I’m going to show you: What selling $4,000 looks like in an MLM.

First, I’ll give you the history, then the money breakdown and then the what this means for you.

About 15 months ago, my sister-in-law, JoEllen, went into business together to see if we could grow an MLM without hosting in-home parties or bugging our friends.  We’ve focused the last year on building our blog, getting seen on Google and being found on Pinterest.  We did very little personal selling and we did no parties or Facebook groups.  Through consistency and killer content (thank you JoEllen), we’ve seen consistent growth in our sales.  This last month was our highest selling month yet.  You can read my original post about The Maskcara Experiment here.

Since we have proven the Maskcara Experiment a success, we will now be adding Facebook groups (you should join JoEllen’s Basic Beauty Group now!) and more talking about Maskcara on our social media.  But these numbers are all from online sales and selling to our current customer list.

Next, the fun part, let’s break down the cash-money.

We sold $4,300 worth of products last month.  With Maskcara when you sell more than $4,000, your commission goes to 40%.

40% of $4,300= $1,720

Plus our downline commissions:

We had about 6-8 active girls month, plus a couple of those who rank advanced to Elite HACer (which gives us an $80 bonus)

That added $785 to our commissions

For a grand total of $2,505 (which my biz partner JoEllen and I split in half and ends up being about $1,250 each)

What does this mean for you?

Maybe you are amazed at these numbers.  Maybe you think these numbers are small potatoes.  What I want you to come away with from looking at the numbers is that growing an MLM business online IS possible.  We do not have a huge social media following (I have almost 2,600 and JoEllen has almost 1300 on Instagram).  We started our blog from scratch.  We are not some big influencer who have thousands to sell to. We are just like you.  So, that means if we can do it, you can do it too.

The winds of MLM’s are changing.  Can you feel it?  The wise ones are seeing that building an online brand and not just selling their product one-on-one is what is going to ensure long-term success.  If you are ready to take part in this revolution, come join my Modern MLM Facebook group.  You can join like-minded MLM friends who are ready to make a change.  This is a group for all MLM’s, not just Maskcara.

    Hi.
I recently, within the last week, signed up to be an artist. I learned through my Maskcara mentor that you guys signed up as partners under the same artist number. My friend and I would like to do the same thing. How did you guys set this up? Any advise would be appreciated.
    Thank you

Hey! We did start out that way, but have since signed up separately. We still split everything 50/50. We did this for a few reasons, one being that when JoEllen wasn’t an official artist she was unable to qualify for any perks. With her under me, her growth helps my growth. So, that is what I would recommend. Good luck!
