How to Use Audible to Build Your Business

I’ve been a huge fan of Audible for a while now, so I thought it was time to write a post about it! There are so many good business books on Audible and how you can easily read them makes it even better. I know you’re busy running a business and probably raising a family too, so you don’t have a lot of spare time! That’s why Audible is so great because it allows you to listen to your favorite books and podcasts no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Alright, here’s everything you need to know about how to use Audible to build your business. 

 

 

If I’m being completely honest, I just had one of my friends who is an amazing business owner on my podcast, Janssen with Everyday Reading. She inspired me to put this post together! She is all about Audible and the perks of having a subscription with it. She is a true lover of all books, and I love business books especially! Anything to help this whole business thing be easier, right? Or really, anything that will help us become better business owners and follow the passion we feel called to do. 

I’m all about teaching people the skills they need to make their business dreams come true. A lot of the books I’ve listened to on Audible have helped with that. Later in the post, I talk about my must-read business books, but first, let’s talk about the basics of Audible and how to get started using it. 

 

What is Audible?

Audible is a streaming book service through Amazon. It’s known to have one of the biggest selections of titles. It covers everything from classic novels to new releases and even podcasts. I’ve listened to countless books on Audible. It’s the perfect thing for moms who want to listen to something while doing chores, or really anyone who wants to read but feels like they don’t have the time to sit down and open up a book. 

You can get a membership or subscription to Audible where you will then have access to countless books. Their selection includes free books and books for purchase. You can form your own library and download the books, so you can have them forever no matter what! OK, let’s talk about how to get started with Audible and how to use Audible to build your business.

 

 

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Get Started With Using Audible

Step #1: Go to the Audible Website and Create an Account

Go to the Audible website and click “Try for $0.00.” You can use your Amazon account to log in to Audible. If you do not have your own Amazon account, you can create it at this time as well. You may want to use a different email address for your Audible account, like your business email, if you are planning to use it specifically for growing your business. It’s up to you! 

 

Step #2: Discover Books You Want to Purchase and Read

If using your computer, there is a search bar in the top right-hand corner of the screen where you can search for specific books. If you are using the app, you can click the “Discover” tab at the bottom of your screen. 

 

 

Step #3: Purchase a Book on Audible

If you find a book you’d like to purchase, you can add it to your cart. When you are ready to check out, click on your cart in the top right-hand corner. The Audible app does not support cash purchases, so you will need to buy your books on a computer. However, you can use the app to view your library of books and add books to your wishlist. 

 

Step #4: Add Books to Your Wishlist

Adding books to your wishlist is pretty simple. When you click on the book you want to start listening to, instead of adding it to your cart, you can click “Add to your wishlist.” You will also see this option available on the app when you search for books. Sometimes you may have to click on the “More Options” tab in order to find the “Add to Wishlist” tab. 

To view your wishlist, click on the “Wishlist” tab at the top left-hand corner of your screen. It is right next to the “Library” tab.  If you are on the app, go to your library, and then you will see the “Wishlist” tab at the top of your screen.

 

Step #5: Download Audible Books

Unless you are streaming a book directly from the Audible website, you will want to download your purchased books to start listening. To download a book, go to your library and you will see a “download” button to the right of your book. 

If you’re using the app, go to your library, tap the 3 dots to the right of your book, and then tap “download.” Downloading your books will allow you to have these books forever and listen to them any time you want. 

 

Step #6: Use Credits to Purchase Audible Books

Audible will sometimes give you credits to purchase books. For instance, you receive a credit when your first sign up with Audible. To use your credit to purchase a book, add your book to the cart like normal. Then, in your cart make sure the “1 Credit” bullet point is selected instead of the cash option. 

 

 

You will know your credit is applied when your cart summary on the right-hand side says your payment total is $0.00. Click purchase and then you will have your free Audible book!
