Equipment

  • 1 Blender A high-quality blender is recommended, but a cheaper option will work. You'll just need to add more water to help it blend well.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas (sliced and frozen)
  • 2 cups berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc)
  • 1-2 cups water, milk, or juice (use your favorite milk (dairy, soy, almond, etc.) or juice (apple or grape))
  • 2 packets frozen açaí puree (200 grams) (broken into pieces)
  • assorted toppings (nuts, seeds, fresh fruit, granola, coconut, etc.)

Instructions

  • Freeze your fruit if needed. If you’re planning to use fresh fruit, place your sliced bananas, strawberries, and blueberries onto a plate lined with parchment paper and then freeze completely. (Frozen fruit will work just fine too. And you do not have to freeze your banana slices if you don’t want to.)
  • Assemble your açaí ingredients by adding the liquid of your choice (water, milk or juice), frozen fruit, and broken up açaí puree to your blender. Blend on low until smooth, adding additional liquid as needed.
  • Divide the açaí mixture into bowls and top with all your favorite toppings. Best enjoyed immediately. (Or, you can freeze it and eat it later like I do. See section “How to Make Açaí Bowl Recipe in Bulk” in the blog post for the best way to do this.)
