Social media, and especially Instagram, is becoming more and more of a search engine. It’s shifting which means the way you create and market content needs to shift in order to see the growth you want. With that being said, you want to make sure you have a couple of things in place before you implement these three Instagram growth strategies.
- Niche down and talk only to your target audience.
- Have a clear bio that tells your audience who you are, how you serve them, and what you want them to do.
- Create niche content that serves your target audience.

How to Get 10K Instagram Followers in 30 Days
Alright, now we’re ready to jump into the three Instagram growth strategies. Branding and marketing strategy is what I do for a living, so I love figuring out different ways to grow faster and faster. I’ve used these three strategies for my own brand, for my clients in my agency, and have taught it to hundreds in my coaching program. So, I know if you take these strategies seriously and really implement them you will finally see the results you want. Let’s get started.
Instagram Growth Strategy #1
Think of someone who is an expert in your industry. This should be someone who is growing their account, posts really great content, and perhaps someone you look up to. Go to the search page on Instagram and pull up their account. If you can’t think of anyone by name, you can also search by hashtag to help you find someone in your niche.
Once you find the account, scroll through it to see what you notice, what you like/don’t like, things you could implement in your content, etc. Then, scroll through their reels and do the same thing. Identify the ones that have way more views than the rest.
Pull up one of the reels that have tons of more views and analyze it. Why does this one have more views? Things to look for:
- Are they using trending audio?
- Are they touching on a trending subject?
- Do they use transitions?
- What does the caption look like?
- Does the caption include keywords and hashtags?
I recommend doing this strategy research with 10-15 Instagram accounts in your niche. This will give you a lot of data on what Instagram is looking for as far as what content will help you go viral vs. content people aren’t really interested in right now.
Use the information you gathered as inspiration for making your own reels and posts. Make a list of reel ideas you could recreate using the inspiration from the successful reels you found in the accounts you researched. Then get to work!

Instagram Growth Strategy #2
10-15 minutes before you post a reel, post in your stories. In your stories, post an engagement sticker e.g. a poll, questions, etc. This will get people engaging with you and then post your reel 10-15 minutes later. Why this timeframe, you ask?
Instagram is looking for clues that people like your content. Engagement is probably the biggest clue of all. So if you have people engaging in your stories that signals to Instagram that those people who engaged with you will probably want to see your reel. So the algorithm will put your reel in front of those people. And that’s one of the several ways to make the Instagram algorithm your best friend!
Instagram Growth Strategy #3
Go back to the influencers you found when you did Instagram growth strategy #1. Visit each of their accounts and make valuable comments on their posts. When you’re posting things that add value to their content and also show the knowledge you have in that niche, people will notice and you’ll start meeting people who you want to know in your niche.
And perhaps these people will have their interests peaked and visit your account. Then they’ll fall in love with your professional, clear, and beautiful account and follow and start engaging with you too. This is one of the many ways to grow your tight-knit Instagram community!
