What to Share and Pin in November
October kicked us off with Fall trends, and in November it’s going to keep getting better. As we get closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, and other holidays, it’s important to stay on track with what to share and pin in November, so you give your audience what they’re searching for–literally.
As usual, I’ve consulted my Pinterest expert for her thoughts on what you need to be sharing and pinning for November. She keeps up with the trends and analytics so you and I don’t have to. I defer to her knowledge every day when planning Pinterest strategies for myself and my clients. (Ready to hire out your Pinterest strategy? Click here to find out how to hire my team!)
I don’t know about you, but I get a feeling of excitement once Halloween is over because it means we’re getting closer to yummy food, special family time, cozy clothes, and the holidays! And the more you think about the good times coming, the more Pinterest comes into play because it’s the master inventory for all the party plans, hosting ideas, decorations and more. Focusing in on the holiday season, here’s what to share and pin in November.
(Most of the things on this list could be things you have already been pinning, so keep pinning and also think of ways to enhance it.)
Share and Pin in November:
- Thanksgiving (recipes, traditions, decorations, games/activities for kids/family friendly–include socially distanced options)
- Black Friday
- Cyber Monday

- All things Fall (fashion, recipes, indoor activities)
Share and Pin in November – December:
- Christmas (decoration, food, crafts)

Popular related search terms include “Christmas Decorations”, “Christmas Recipes”, “Elf On The Shelf Ideas”, and “Christmas Gift Ideas”.
It’s important to keep in mind the color palette while creating your pins. Make sure it’s an accurate representation of your brand as well as mixing it in with the warm colors of Fall and/or the snowy colors of Winter. For more information of what kinds of colors and/or images to use in your pins, you can check out this recent blog post.
Socially Distanced Options
Due to current times A.K.A COVID, maybe it’s time to go back to content you’ve shared and/or pinned in the past and add some socially distanced options, and include it in your current content as well. Since it’s November, the beginning of holiday pins, let’s keep our theme with the holiday season.
Ask yourself things like, ‘How do you spread holiday cheer when you can’t get together?’ and ‘How to stay healthy during the holidays?’ and ‘How to celebrate together when you can’t be together?’ Maybe it’s making treats for neighbors or loved ones and dropping them at the door, sending a family Christmas card, or making holiday home videos to send to loved ones. Maybe it’s learning how to give yourself a limit with your food intake or find a commitment buddy where you make a pact that you’ll exercise every day through the holidays. Or maybe it’s having a virtual meal together or sending gifts through the mail.
These are just a few socially-distanced options to include in your November-December shares and pins, and there are tons more.
Also, keep in mind how you can use those trends to fit into your content. Think about what key phrases someone would search for and include it in your post. For example, maybe someone would search “COVID-19 holiday activities” or “socially distanced holiday activities” or something similar to that.
Now that we’ve covered what to pin in November, we can start looking toward December. Continue pinning Christmas content, but start working on new content for the new year now, so you have it ready to pin in December. People are all about change at the new year, so think anything on self/life improvement, productivity, goal setting, etc. More specifically, things that are usually trending for the New Year are:
- Weight Loss Tips
- Healthy Eating
- Budget Tips
