Garrett Family Pictures at Mission Inn Riverside, CA Photographer

A little over 10 years ago, my husband and I, arrived in Arizona for the first time.  I was very pregnant and very scared.  My husband was starting medical school and I was starting a new life away from my family and everything familiar.  The first night we arrived, this family, the Garretts came to our new apartment and helped unload the moving van.  They were our familiar in our new desert home.

The beautiful mom in these pictures is Randi of Randi Garrett Design and is my husband’s sister.  “In-law” just doesn’t seem like the right words to describe this family.  They happened to be visiting Arizona on the night we moved and was there to help us.  A year later, they were the ones moving to the desert.

During the 7 years we lived close to them, they fed us countless fancy dinners, hosted BYU Football parties, dreamed big business dreams and made delicious desserts.

My photography skills have grown right along side this family.  When their kids were young, so was my photography.  I love taking their pictures year after year.  As the family photographer, I get to spend one-on-one time with each of my family without my kids.  Don’t get me wrong, my kids are a party, but when I spend this time with my other family members, I can slow down and enjoy and celebrate my nieces and nephews and my brothers and sisters.

This year, we went to Downtown Riverside, CA at the Mission Inn for their pictures.  Both Matt and Randi grew up in Southern California.  The Mission Inn is a tradition and the perfect place to hold their family pictures.

So, thank you, Garrett family.  Love you bunches!
