How I Gained 10k Instagram Followers in 6 Weeks

My account has been exploding with followers ever since I implemented my updated Instagram Growth Strategy. This strategy is how I gained 10k Instagram followers in 6 weeks! And if you’ve been trying to grow your Instagram account over the past little bit then you know how big of a deal this is. I’m constantly analyzing what content is and isn’t working on Instagram. I notice trending audios, trending reels, and the type of content that is getting a ton of attention. And I keep track of all of this so I can then use this strategy in my own content, for my clients, and to teach my Money Makers

What you need to remember about Instagram is you are building a relationship with the people that follow you through the content you post. And the tricky part is that each follower is in a different phase of the relationship they have with you. You have some who have been with you for a long time, some who have purchased your products, some who are brand new to following you, and some more scattered in between. And I’ve figured out how to organize your content so you’re appealing to all the phases. Are you ready for this killer Instagram Growth Strategy?

How I Gained 10k Instagram Followers in 6 Weeks

Because your audience is made up of people in several different phases of their relationship with you, you’ve got to figure out how to appease each one without losing the others at the same time. It sounds hard, but once you nail down this strategy it will work miracles for your account! I’ve divided it into three different phases: attraction, nurture and selling.

 

Phase #1: Attraction 

The attraction phase is when you bring new people into your community (A.K.A. getting more Instagram followers). The best type of posts to create for attraction content is reels. It’s because reels have a different algorithm than any other type of content on Instagram where it’ll put your content in front of people who don’t follow you. When you brainstorm attraction content, you don’t want to post things that are at the exact center of your niche. Instead, you want to venture out to the edges of it that will attract a broader audience but still within your niche. Click HERE to see one of my latest reels using this strategy!

Phase #2: Nurture 

The nurture phase is where you are nurturing your audience by letting them know they can trust you and you are there for them. This phase goes into action as soon as those potential followers who just liked your reel click on your name and visit your Instagram account. They are now reading your bio and looking at your feed to decide if this is someone they want to follow. 

Your nurturing content should add value to your followers’ lives. And you add value to their lives by knowing who they are, their interests, their problems, and how they talk about all of that. Also, a HUGE way to nurture your audience is to get them to follow you in other places. And my #1 recommendation would be to get them on your email list! Your email list is a place you own and can really build that tight-knit relationship with each one of your subscribers. Phase #3: Selling 

The selling phase is when you are going all in and advertising your products that may be about to launch or you have a sale going on hoping you can increase your overall sales. If you jump straight to the selling phase without hitting the attraction and nurture phase first, that’s like going on a first date and asking someone to marry you. They will probably say no, and they should because that’s simply too soon to know. 

It works the same way for your products. If you’re selling your products right away before you’ve given your audience a chance to get to know you and build some type of relationship with you they will be quicker to say no to purchasing your products. So, you should first be focusing on your attraction content, then nurturing, and then selling. It must go in this order to get the highest results.

#1 Instagram Growth Formula

I recommend spending 50% of your time attracting new people, 30% nurturing them, and 20% selling. Let’s see how this converts into a week of content. Let’s say you post for six days a week. You will have three posts attracting new people (think reels), two posts that nurture (e.g. carousel post jam-packed with high-quality info), and 1 post selling (talking about your product on your stories, including a link to buy it). 

You’ll get the best bang for your buck if you are posting six days out of every week. This especially goes for those of you who are hungry for growth. Remember how I gained 10k Instagram followers in 6 weeks? It was from being consistent with this growth strategy!

I know there are other creatives out there who recommend posting every single day. And others who say you only need to post 2-3 times a week. First of all, it’s a lot to post every day! I like to have at least one day to look forward to not having to post something. And then the 2-3 times per week advice works for creators who are already established. This is better advice for those who already have a substantial following and a good rhythm for their content schedule. 

So, six days a week is the magic number for several reasons. 

  1. It’ll make you a better content creator because you’ll learn skills faster than if you were only posting a few times a month. 
  2. You’ll have way more data to tell you what is and isn’t working for your Instagram strategy because you’ll be able to look back at your posts and see which ones had more engagement and other helpful feedback like that. 
  3. You’ll have more content out there which will help the Instagram algorithm to start understanding who you are and what type of people to put your content in front of. (Want to know more ways to make the algorithm love you? Check out my post HERE.)
