Now that we know what email marketing is and why you should all be using it, we need to discuss what email marketing platform you should use. Two of the biggest companies out there are ConvertKit and MailChimp. Both platforms have good things to offer, but I think most of my followers are going to want to use ConvertKit, and I’ll explain why.
I know it’s tempting to look at MailChimp’s free plan and think it will work for you. And it probably will work for you. But ConvertKit will actually help you find more subscribers and make money. ConvertKit does offer a 14-day free trial, so you can test it out for yourself before committing.
Have any of you used MailChimp? Or made the switch from MailChimp to ConvertKit? What were your experiences? What questions do you have about the two services? I’m here to help, so comment below.

Benefits of MailChimp
First let’s talk about MailChimp. MailChimp has some great features—if you have an e-commerce website. MailChimp’s biggest strength is helping you find and retain customers. MailChimp helps you manage your ads across your social media sites—Google, Facebook, Instagram—so that you can create a customized ad campaign for your customers. You can also target customers who have bought something from you in the past but haven’t purchased anything recently, creating ad campaigns specifically for them. MailChimp will also allow you to create design-based customized emails to send to your customers, with the focus being on the design so you can promote your goods and products.
MailChimp’s biggest draw is that it offers a basic plan that’s free. That’s going to be hard to resist for many people. But stick with me here because MailChimp isn’t for everyone.
Benefits of ConvertKit
As we’ve already discussed in previous posts, ConvertKit is really great for attracting and managing subscribers. ConvertKit provides analytics on how many subscribers you have, what they have clicked on and liked, and how engaged they are on your website. And, hands down, ConvertKit’s best features are the automations. You can create customized, automated emails for any number of your subscribers based on how they have interacted with your blog or website.
ConvertKit was made for bloggers and makes it easy to create beautiful, customized, word-based content for your subscribers. You also don’t need to know anything about email marketing or coding. ConvertKit will walk you through each step of a successful email marketing campaign so that you can focus on your blog and the content you are providing to your subscribers.

Why Choose ConvertKit over MailChimp?
So why do I think most of my followers should use ConvertKit instead of MailChimp? Well, most of you simply aren’t running e-commerce sites. You run blogs, websites, and MLM’s. You are focused on your subscribers as individuals and you want to send them customized, content-based emails that fit their needs. You want to convert your followers into subscribers and ultimately turn a profit. ConvertKit provides the tools to help you do this.
MailChimp does not provide as many customized automation or as much information on individual subscribers. MailChimp also was not made with MLM’s in mind, and you cannot use its free service to manage your MLM site.
