3 Ways to Make More Money for your Biz in Less Time

Ready for the secret that is going to save you time, make you more money, and help you make fewer mistakes? It’s systems. Systems may not be very sexy, but they do help you grow your business. These 3 ways to make more money for your biz in less time will help make sure you start setting up your systems where it matters most.

This step to creating systems in your business is level 4 of my Money Maker Method, which is Establish an Ecosystem. If you’ve missed the other levels of my series, scroll to the bottom of this post to catch up! I share all of my secrets and tips to make more money for your business.

Now, back to systems. Systems are what separates your business from those that are just dabbling. It’s totally OK to have a hobby business if that’s all you’re wanting, but if you’re wanting to take your biz to the next level, systems are what will get you there.

To help you envision what a system is and how it helps with your business, imagine a recipe. A recipe is a system because it’s something people refer to when cooking in order to make their experience easier. If they didn’t have the recipe they would have to test out ingredients and create the recipe all over again. If it’s written down, it’ll be much faster and easier to create what you’re wanting.

Think of the “recipes” you can incorporate into your business to help you stop wasting time, so you can spend more of your time building your business into something long-lasting. Don’t worry, I’ll help you by giving some ideas of some systems you can set up for your business and the next steps to take once you find the ones you want to set up.

Different Systems to Set Up for Your Biz

There are several systems listed here to help you get started. This list will hopefully get you thinking about which systems you want to implement in your business.

  • Email marketing system
    • Welcome sequence
    • Sales funnel
  • A process for when someone visits your website, purchases a product, or contacts you
  • Editing podcasts and turning them into blog posts for your website
  • Communication for collaborations and/or giveaways
  • Instagram content

These are all things you can systemize in your business. You might be thinking that’s a lot. Where do you even start? That’s where the 3 ways to make more money for your biz in less time come in. Ready? Let’s jump in.

3 Ways to Make More Money for your Biz in Less Time

You may be thinking your business is too small to have systems. Well, you’re wrong. I love you, but you may be wrong on that one. Systems can help any business, big or small.

Having systems make it easier to grow. Imagine how easy it would be to pass on your email response system to an assistant once you’re ready to hire one. Your work will already be set up to pass on rather than you trying to figure out how you can even create work for an assistant (even though you know you need one).

These 3 ways to make more money for your biz in less time will give you the next steps to take to create systems that will make the most impact. So, get ready, I’m giving you the secret formula that will build your business and get it set up to make more money now and in years to come.

Money-making Step #1: Make a list of what you do over and over again.

The first step is to think of the things you do over and over again. Maybe you repeatedly send certain email responses, manually enter in information when it could be automated, or something else. You know what they are. Make a list of each thing, so you can physically see how many there are.

Money-making Step #2: From that list, choose the systems that make you money directly.

Now, from that list, identify which of these things make you money directly. These are the items you’ll focus on systemizing first. The other systems are important too, but I want you to have your money-making systems solidified first.

So, which items on your list make you money directly? Maybe you teach in-person classes and so create a system that makes it really easy for someone to purchase those classes and then have some follow-up afterward to make sure they become a loyal customer.

(Biz Side Bar: We don’t want people to just buy and then die. We want them to buy and then be a part of our community. How do you take care of your people after they purchase?)

Maybe you have a form on your website potential clients fill out in order to work with you. Implement a system that will send an immediate response to that potential client and the communication process you want to have with them from start to finish.

Depending on what type of business you are, these systems will look different, but just remember to think about the ones on your list that make you money directly and how you can make that process either become automated or a lot easier to manage.

Money-making Step #3: Build out those systems, starting with the ones you do most often.

Step 3 is actually building out the systems from the ones you chose in step 2. Make sure to start with the ones that you do the most often. I’ll list a couple of examples of how you can create systems from things that could be on your list.

Example #1: Customer Service Emails

Do you get a lot of emails from people asking the same types of questions? Create several answer templates where you can copy and paste your answer and then customize it to the person asking you the question, rather than having to rewrite your answer every single time.

Example #2: Collaborating Emails

Maybe you have a podcast and you want to reach out to someone to have as a guest on your podcast. Have an email template where it’s an initial email introducing yourself and asking them to be a guest. (The message can be the same, but it will obviously be personalized.) And then you send out a link that will set up a time for you two to meet and perform the interview. (I recommend Calendly for that second step, but I’ll share more about that later.)

I cannot tell you how much time I’ve wasted sending emails back and forth trying to figure out a time that works best for both me and the person I’m trying to meet with. Finding an app or resource that can automate that process is the best thing you could do for yourself. This is one of my absolute favorite systems I have!

Resources to Help with Your Systems

  • Calendly
    • Calendly is a free app that helps you schedule meetings with others. With this app, people can look at your schedule and then sign up for a time to meet with you. You can connect this to your calendar, Zoom, etc. so it not only automates the scheduling process but your schedule reminders as well. It’s the best!
  • Honeybook
    • I recommend Honeybook if you do any service-based business where you’re having contracts, sending questionnaires, having forms to fill out, etc. You can even set up your payments too.
  • Davinci
    • I use Davinci for my email marketing system. It’s also where I house all of my courses. There are other options that may work better for your budget as well. You can check out this post where I discuss those other options.

Investing in your systems is going to save you so much time, especially if you get them ironed out in the beginning. If you don’t have money to invest, that’s OK, just start with the free stuff (like Zoom and Calendly.) You will know when it’s time to upgrade.
