It has changed how I market my business and has more than doubled my email list since I started using it just a few months ago. I am all about automating where you can in business, and ManyChat is going to be your new favorite automation tool. What is ManyChat?

ManyChat is an automated software that you can connect to your Instagram account, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, and SMS. It allows you to automate responses to people in your comments and DMs. ManyChat speeds up the process of engaging with your audience and answering your frequently asked questions. If used correctly, this tool can help you grow so much faster than you have been!

If you have tons of people asking you the same questions, you can use ManyChat to send them an automated response rather than having to repeat yourself every time. You can set up trigger words that automate the responses and your automatic replies in the beginning and then ManyChat will continue to work in the background without you having to think about it again. 

 

How ManyChat Works

Have you noticed any Instagram influencers say something like, “Comment “link” to find out more about [x] product!”? If so, this influencer is most likely using ManyChat. If people leave a comment, they will have an automated response sent to their DMs from you with the information they are asking for. This automated software is a real game changer. Think of all the ways you can use this to increase sales, your email list, personal connection with your audience, and more!

Other platforms offer similar services, but I prefer ManyChat because it is Meta verified. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, said that ManyChat is a certified partner, and because of that those who use it are not getting dinged by the algorithm when the automation happens. 

Another great thing about ManyChat is that it boosts your engagement with all of the comments and replies on your posts. If you’re telling people to comment a certain word to get the info you are teasing then you’ll get so many more comments–not to mention the automatic replies to those comments you can set up through ManyChat as well. 

As I mentioned earlier, ManyChat has more than doubled my email subscribers only after a few months! This has happened because people will get in my DMs and then I will lead them to give me their email to receive the freebie they are requesting. This is a really powerful strategy because now you don’t just have an Instagram follower, but a customer beginning their journey with you in a more intimate setting like a weekly email. How to Create a ManyChat Chatbot

If you want to create a chatbot for your DMs or even to live on your website, you’ll need to create an account with ManyChat and sign in with your Facebook credentials. You’ll then grant access for ManyChat to manage your Page messages. From there, you will follow the prompts to continue setting up your chatbot. How to Use ManyChat to Market Your Business

The first thing to do is sign up for a free ManyChat account. You can do that HERE. Then, to build it into your strategy you will need to create an email opt-in if you do not already have one. An email opt-in is generally some type of free product you offer your followers that will add value to their lives. If they want this valuable product that is completely free, they will click on your opt-in link and sign up to receive your emails. 

Once you have your freebie set up and your email marketing system (if you do not already have one set up, check out my post HERE that’ll give you my top recommendations and details on each one), it’s time to create an Instagram reel teasing your freebie. 

Your reel should give a little sneak peek of what your freebie is and then in your caption, you can include the trigger word (set up using ManyChat) they need to comment to get full access to your product. Click HERE to see an example of how this works. 

Biz Pro Tip: Make sure your trigger word is specific and not one that people would comment on anyway. For instance, I would never include “Instagram” as part of my trigger word because people are using that word in lots of comments when they are asking me questions. So make sure the trigger word you choose is super specific, so the automated DM gets sent to the people who are asking for it and not to those who may ask for it on accident. 

 

ManyChat Templates and Flows

ManyChat offers several different templates and flows that will help you organize your text conversations with your followers. Each template has a different focus e.g. abandoned cart recovery, out-of-stock, etc. The templates offer prompts that will lead your customer to buy if they have paused their checkout process. 

The flow provides a visual editor that allows you to get an overall view of your conversations between users without you having to click on each individual message. This saves a ton of time and helps you stay organized as you are chatting with literally hundreds of different people at once.
