Home Office Tour and How to Use Affiliate Links
For my business besties:
In my last post, I opened your eyes to ways that you can make money online. The easiest way to make money is through affiliate links. You can read the whole article here, but just to quickly catch you up:
Affiliate marketing is when you talk about someone else’s product and then if your audience buys that product with your link, then you get a commission. It is a really effective way to make money because you are use products every day and you are interacting with your audience every day.
So this post has a few purposes,
-
show you how to use affiliate marketing naturally
-
show you my home office
-
make money through affiliates (too honest? Well, this momma needs to get paid too;)
The above information is for my business besties, and below is the blog post that I would write if I were just using affiliate links naturally in my blog post:
Here is my home office tour and how I naturally use affiliate links:
I married into a family of home decorators and because they were so good, I kind of felt like I didn’t need to be. Plus, throw in 11 years of being poor students, four moves and decorating my home got put on the back burner. Three years ago, my husband finished residency, got a job and we bought a house. Things changed. We suddenly were in a home that we will be in for the foreseeable future and we weren’t living off of student loans. It was time to make our house a home…or so we thought. Turns out that decorating your house takes a lot of time and money. So, we have gone slowly and it has been a good thing because I have slowly learned that decorating isn’t just for the naturally gifted, but is a way that my husband and I can blend and make our own style.
Our style.
That is what this office has symbolized for me. It started out with a picture from Pinterest with all of the colors that I wanted. On a whim, I hauled the kids over to Home Depot, bought some paint and got to work.
My husband bought these legs on Amazon and built my desk with 4 x 6’s (can I tell you how much I love things made by my husband? well, it’s a lot.)
Then we took one big trip to Home Goods with my husband’s mom and sister because I know when to call in experts. We flew through Home Goods with three carts and threw in anything that spoke to us and fit our Pinterest picture. Our style was emerging right before my eyes in those over flowing shopping carts. Then we started taking out and sifting through the things that weren’t quite right.
And this is the result.
I believe in having pieces in each room that mean something. This table is my great-grandma’s table. I never did meet her, but I feel like she is one of my guardian angels. I love being able to use this piece in this room.
I now have a happy place to create, podcast, edit and invite an occasional guest. Here’s to using the experts, finding your style and having fun along the way.
