I have been in business for over 15 years now, and I’ve had to forge a path for most of my business journey. I had to keep guessing, trying, and failing in order to figure out what works and what doesn’t. All along the way, I learned one thing that matters most to me. It’s you. I care about you and the success of your business.

I want you to know that you can build a business while you have kids at home or whatever your situation may be. So, I like to share things like the big secret to promoting your biz online because I want you to find the answers and support you need in order to make your biz dreams come true!

So, what is the big secret to promoting your biz online? It is what I like to call the Iceberg Principle or my Money Maker Method. This is a principle I set up about a year ago when I thought about all of you and how you want to make more money doing what you love. (And make sure you aren’t wasting your time while figuring out how to do it.)

But since this post is focused on promoting your business online I want to focus on the last level–why it is the last level of the iceberg.

My Money Maker Method is the big secret to promoting your biz online because I’ve heard from too many influencers or entrepreneurs that their businesses are solely on Instagram. I hate to break it to you, but Instagram is not a marketing or business strategy. You need to have that solid foundation and let your social media marketing be a support to that strategy.

That’s why “yell to your people” is the last level on the iceberg AND it’s the only one sticking up above the water. Because that’s all your followers and customers are seeing you produce. I added TikTok because I recently did an experiment where I focused on posting content on TikTok every day twice a day. And I was blown away by the results. I was able to grow my following in months in what took me YEARS to do on Instagram. Isn’t that crazy?

So, now is the best time to get on TikTok before there is more competition! Just really focus on your niche and use that to your advantage. TikTok’s algorithm will do the rest to make sure your content gets in front of the right people. I am so grateful to live in this day in age where we can grow our influence and business this fast online!

How to Promote Your Biz Online

I’m not saying you need to start all 9 of these things today. But what I am saying is to pick one or two and get really good at them and then add more on as you feel ready to. I would probably start with YouTube and a website.

A website is super important for your biz because it is your home base. It shows you are serious about your business and you always have it to send people to in order to learn about your business and buy your products. YouTube is a great place to start as well because it can make your content strategy something you love to think about rather than something you keep putting off. I recommend making YouTube your core piece of content because you can take the content from your YouTube video and replicate it in almost all the other places. For Example:

I can post a YouTube video, and then extract the audio and turn it into a podcast episode. Then, I can use the transcript from that same audio and turn it into a blog post. And I can make pins to go on Pinterest that will take them to my blog post. I can even take a shorter clip of the video and turn it into a reel on Instagram or a video for TikTok. And lastly, you can advertise your new Youtube video, blog post, or podcast episode through your email or text marketing.
